*************** Christmas Party ***************
As no Christmas party is complete without food, we always invite party goers to bring their favorite dishes to pass. This always results in many culinary delights ranging from large Christmas hams accompanied by cheesy potatoes to stromboli and many appetizing desserts. The stable is always alight at this time of the year with the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas.
The love of horses can even trump that of a party! Some students always preferring to sweep the aisles and feeding and watering the horses. You will find that it is the these hardcore few that have to be dragged from the barn after their lessons.
Face painting is always popular particularly with our younger equestrians and everyone always enjoys the craft of making an ornament to hang on the tree of their own lesson horse. Parents can be counted on to join in the fun helping with speed gluing.
The hay ride is always one of the highlights of our parties and we usually are blessed with good weather whatever the season. Much to the delight of the participants one or more of the horses will usually “join in” the hayride, enticed by the hay and amble alongside the wagon! Its quite a treat to see them running free so up close and personal. Some of them putting in their own Christmas display, flagging their tails and running amok in the snow! Invigorated by the Christmas season Mr. Pierre, who usually masquerades as the “The Grinch”, always helps the children and some brave adults wreak havoc on each other in the hay fight. And onlookers could see the hay rising above the tree line two fields away!!
Some of our lesson horses always join in the festive spirit by sporting antlers and Santa attire. Our youngest to our oldest students enjoy this photo opportunity.
Sir Duncan also now makes an annual appearance at our Christmas parties looking quite proper in his Santa hat much to the delight of those that attend.
Adding to the festivities we organized an ugly sweater competition. The turn out was very impressive and the competition was quite fierce between the adults and children alike. Looking forward to the next year to celebrate with our extended barn family.
************************* Halloween Party *************************
PAL Stables Halloween parties are always an enjoyable event. We encourage not just the students but parents as well to partake. Those that attend our costumed party enjoy an afternoon of games, food, friendships and of course HORSES!!
A bonfire and our spooky decorations always set the mood of our haunted stable and of course no Halloween party is ever complete without our delicious apple cider and doughnuts.
Party guests enjoy the face painting and carnival style games. Even on of our many lesson horses Miss Heidi usually gets into the Halloween spirit and adorns her sunglasses!
There is always more than enough candy to distribute and prizes given out for the best adult and children’s costumes. Party guests also enjoy the hayride touring the fields and seeing the horses in their natural habitat.
This fun filled afternoon always consists of a myriad of unique photo opportunities that last a lifetime. Mark your calendars and keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook page for up coming events. ~ Pierre
You never know who will show up! Our youngest students were thrilled to trick and treat with Elmo and Cookie Monster
